Your mission will be to contribute to the entire development process, from system design to deployment and monitoring in production.

The Payroll squad ensures that PayFit clients can close their payroll reliably and on time. The squad provides a comprehensive and scalable solution for local teams in each country where PayFit operates. Internally, the squad guarantees that all business domains covered by the PayFit product can impact payroll safely.

The squad maintains and evolves critical services such as calculating monthly payroll, generating employee payslips, allowing clients to undo a payroll, and providing payslip previews. The domain is broad and deployed across three countries, presenting exciting architectural challenges.

This role is for you if :

• You are a Senior Engineer with 6+ years of experience.
• You have hands-on experience with Domain-Driven Design and Event-Driven Architecture, and can help transition the team towards this architectural vision.
• You seek opportunities and build strategies.
• You are comfortable with AWS services, especially serverless components (Lambda, Step Functions, workflow orchestration).
• You are familiar with Infrastructure as Code and deploying various projects.
• You can write RFCs, discuss them, and reach consensus.
• You are pragmatic and product-driven, interested in solving problems and delivering value while considering business and technical tradeoffs.
• You are a team player with good communication skills, comfortable working remotely and with non-technical colleagues.
• You follow best practices regarding code quality, clean architecture, testing, monitoring, code reviews, and CI/CD.
• You are fluent in English.

The Payroll squad consists of 3 Software Engineers, an Engineering Manager, a Product Manager, and a Designer, working closely together daily. Your future manager, Stéphane, has extensive experience leading complex technical initiatives and will support your growth!

The Hiring Process :

1. Initial Discovery Call: An Talent Acquisition representative will assess your fit and qualifications.
2. Call with an Engineering Manager: Discuss your experience and skills (30 min).
3. Technical Interview: Includes a coding exercise or live coding (90 min) and a system design interview focusing on distributed systems and web architecture (90 min).
4. Meet with your Team: Interact with other team members to assess fit (30-45 min).
5. Interview with the Engineering Director: Discuss your understanding of our roles, challenges, and potential impact (30 min).
