Alice & Bob, a pioneering quantum computing startup in France, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain low-level software close to hardware for our quantum control stack. You will drive architecture, mentor engineers, and partner with physicists to enable rapid, reliable experimentation.

You will own drivers and hardware interfaces for control electronics (signal generators, AWGs, digitizers, FPGA instruments), collaborate across teams, and shape the long-term

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience designing low-level software close to hardware.
• Strong Python engineering capabilities.
• Ability to define clean abstractions for hardware/software interfaces.
• Experience writing drivers or low-level interfaces for hardware instruments.

Responsabilités

• Design and maintain low-level drivers and hardware abstraction layers for control electronics including signal generators, AWGs, digitizers, and FPGA instruments.
• Define interfaces decoupling control electronics from higher-level logic to enable fast iteration.
• Collaborate with physicists to reflect experimental needs and enable rapid iteration.
• Drive long-term architectural strategy and cross-organizational alignment.
• Mentor teams and lead architecture reviews across the platform department.
