Job Description

We are looking for a hands-on Senior Software Engineer who will help design and build our data management platform.

DDN – Infinia engineers come from diverse backgrounds, and we consider them to be in the highest tier of technology game changers globally. They have created, architected and pioneered numerous advancements in data enabling technologies, and delivered groundbreaking ideas which have shaped and transformed the storage industry.

What will you bring to DDN

  • 5+ years development experience, with recent experience in Go, Python or C++
  • Experience with authentication and authorization system design and integration
  • Familiarity with identity provider integration eg Okta
  • Distributed systems engineering experience, with working knowledge of containers, key/value databases and timeseries data
  • A strong conceptual understanding of filesystems, block and object storage
  • Experience with hardware management interfaces such as IPMI and Redfish are a plus
  • Advanced skill in Linux, including networking
  • Experience working with geographically distributed teams
  • Demonstrated results of innovative thinking and delivery

What you have achieved…

  • Experience developing REST API/CLIs for storage or computation resource management
  • A proven ability to own and deliver features in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong testing skills to ensure new feature and regression coverage
  • Ability to both operate and make progress independently
  • Experience working on developer tooling
  • Deep understanding of Storage Design Thinking (ideation, prototyping, testing, design frameworks and concept visualization)

What will you be doing

  • Participate in the design and development of our Data Services and Software Defined Storage solution
  • Conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex design challenges and user scenarios
  • Within the Scrum model, participate in full product development lifecycle including planning, design, code, test, usability reviews, release and maintenance
  • Participate in the engineering on-call rotation to provide excellent support to our customers
  • Participation in a team on-call rotation providing seven-day week out of hours coverage, including the provision of after-hours and weekend support work when required.

This position requires participation in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours support as needed.

Interview Process:

After submitting your application, the team reviews your CV and statement of exceptional work.If your application passes this stage, you will be invited to a 30-minute interview (“phone interview”) during which a member of our team will ask some basic questions. If you clear the initial phone interview, you will enter the main process, which consists of four technical interviews:

  • Coding assessment in a language of your choice.
  • Systems design: Translate high-level requirements into a scalable, fault-tolerant service.
  • Systems hands-on: Demonstrate practical skills in a live problem-solving session.
  • Project deep-dive: Present your past exceptional work to a small audience.
  • Meet and greet with the wider team.
  • Our goal is to finish the main process within one week.
  • We don’t rely on recruiters for assessments.
  • Every application is reviewed by a member of our technical team.
