Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer with MTSI you will utilize your Java and JavaScript experience to design, implement, and maintain real-time data ingestion infrastructure for a project using an agile development model. This position will be located in Chantilly, VA.

Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:

• Collaborate with team members to understand project requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Develop and maintain the front-end and back-end components of web applications and web services.
• Assist with the testing and deployment of code in a secure cloud environment.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize code for performance and scalability.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
• Actively participate in the agile development process, including sprint planning and daily stand-ups.

Qualifications

• 10+ years' of experience as a Software Engineer or a related field.
• Solid understanding of web development fundamentals, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience with a front-end JavaScript framework such as Vue.js.
• Familiarity with at least one server-side language such as Java, Python, or C.
• Experience working with Linux-based servers and systems.
• Understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git, Mercurial).
• Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Desired Qualifications:

• Knowledge of relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Knowledge of containerization and container orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Helm, Kubernetes).
• Understanding of RESTful API design principles.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.

Educational Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, computer science, data science, engineering, math, statistics, operations research, or related field.

Certifications Desired:

• DoD 8570 IAT level 3 (CompTIA Security+) compliant. (Desired)

Clearance Requirements:

• TS/SCI with eligibility for a CI Polygraph.
• U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
