Senior Software Development Engineer - NDC-X / Universal Distribution / Reservation Seating and Ancillary ServicesAbout the Team
In Booking and Synchronization Management (BSM), the Seat and Ancillary Services team is a key participant in the NDC-X program for booking. We are actively contributing to the creation of the Universal Distribution Platform and are responsible for reservation seat and ancillary services across all Amadeus channels (including New Distribution Capability (NDC), Global Distribution System (GDS), and more), which are essential to many of our customers.
The team holds end-to-end responsibility for these components and includes a diverse range of engineering roles, such as Product Development Analysts (PDAs), software developers, and Quality Assurance (QA) engineers. Team members contribute across four different agile trains, spanning Distribution, Airline IT, and technical domains.
In This Role, You Will:
General Accountabilities
Apply specialized technical or functional knowledge to contribute meaningfully to business outcomes.
Support the development of early-career colleagues by sharing expertise and guidance.
Anticipate dependencies and outcomes to inform decisions in complex scenarios.
Contribute to cross-functional projects, propose process improvements, and take ownership of team and individual goals.

Specific Accountabilities
Analyze user requirements to inform the development or enhancement of software solutions.
Design technical solutions, conduct feasibility studies, and present proposals to Product Management or users.
Develop software aligned with internal standards and best practices, including database modeling and implementation.
Conduct unit, package, and performance testing to ensure software quality and participate in validation phases.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for internal and external stakeholders.

Business Environment
The Reservation area is central to many Amadeus products, managing critical steps in trip reservation including booking, ticketing, and Passenger Name Record (PNR) management.
Within the Travel Services and Reservation (TSR) division, the BSM department supports a wide range of booking features for travel and ancillary services—whether online or offline, via EDIFACT or New Distribution Capability (NDC). We manage orchestration processes and their representations in the PNR.
As the travel industry evolves rapidly, we are engaged in key projects across both travel agency and airline business domains, including the Universal Distribution initiative (UDIP), Star Alliance, and the transition to the Offer/Order model (Nevio). We are also completing our migration to the Cloud and continuously improving through initiatives like Software System Improvement (SSI) and proactive maintenance streams.
