Job summary

Voodoo seeks a Senior Security Engineer to join the Engineering & Data team. You will architect and maintain automated security guardrails, embed secure practices early in design, and develop scalable automated assessments across the business unit.

You will contribute code for security fixes, build self-service tooling, and implement preventive/detective controls while collaborating with stakeholders on long-term security strategy and on-call incident support.

Qualifications

• 5+ years troubleshooting systems, log analysis, automation via CLI.
• 5+ years identifying security vulnerabilities, assessing risks, and mitigation strategies.
• 5+ years scripting and security-focused code reviews across standard programming languages.
• Expertise in threat modeling and risk identification techniques.
• Leadership or guidance experience (technical lead/mentor).
• Experience with threat modeling and comprehensive risk identification methodologies.
• Experience securing microservices and SOA/web services.
• Experience with OAuth2/OIDC/SAML authentication protocols.
• Experience with penetration testing and vulnerability assessments.
• Self-starting with ownership and ability to work across teams.

Responsibilities

• Security engineering & guardrails: architect, construct, and maintain automated guardrails and paved paths for secure-by-default development environments.
• Shift-Left Architecture Guidance: collaborate with development teams early to embed secure coding practices.
• Continuous & Automated Assessment: develop automated assessment capabilities at scale.
• Hands-on Code Contribution: write code for security fixes and paved-path solutions.
• Self-Service Tooling: build scalable, self-service security tools for teams to detect/remediate risks.
• Preventive & Detective Controls: implement robust controls for ongoing assurance.
• Strategic Collaboration & Incident Response: drive security strategy with stakeholders and participate in on-call rotations.
• AI-Driven Security Innovation: leverage AI to improve threat detection and security evaluation.
