amo in Paris is seeking a senior search engineer to build and optimize production search systems across multiple entity types. You will tackle geospatial indexing, query planning, retrieval, and ranking while designing metrics and running offline evaluations to improve search quality.

You will collaborate with backend and product teams to ship improvements, focusing on latency, relevance, and scalable architectures in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Senior-level experience building production search systems.

• Experience with search quality metrics, experimentation, and feedback loops.
• Experience evaluating, tuning, extending, or building search/indexing systems beyond basic API usage.
• Strong backend engineering fundamentals.
• Ability to reason about latency, relevance, correctness, and scale.

• Experience with Rust search/indexing systems or similar low-level indexing primitives.

• Experience building search systems over multiple heterogeneous entity types.
