Description du poste

Brink Therapeutics is a venture-backed biotech company specializing in the development of cutting-edge gene therapy tools. We focus on site-specific recombinases, highly efficient enzymes that enable precise DNA modifications—such as inserting, removing, or inverting DNA sequences—without causing double-strand breaks. These recombinases offer a safer, more precise alternative to existing technologies like CRISPR-Cas9, with the potential to revolutionize Cell and Gene Therapies and improve their accessibility.

Values

Joining Brink Therapeutics means becoming one of our first team members and helping build an ambitious company harnessing advanced Directed Evolution, deep gene-mining techniques, and AI to develop new treatments for cancers, autoimmune diseases, genetic disorders, and more.

If you are an innovative scientist or engineer eager to solve challenging problems to improve patients’ lives worldwide, we invite passionate individuals to join us and shape the future of medicine!

Mission Highlights

As a Senior Scientist in Molecular Biology, you will innovate, optimize, and oversee our advanced in vitro droplet-based recombinase Directed Evolution platform. Your goal will be to generate and characterize high-utility therapeutic recombinase candidates and produce large NGS datasets for computational analysis.

Responsibilities

  1. Develop and execute processes for designing and generating large, smart recombinase variant libraries (collaborating with computational scientists).
  2. Develop and execute NGS-based readout processes for Directed Evolution assays.
  3. Create in vitro assays for rapid characterization of recombinase functional and biochemical properties.
  4. Communicate project status, requirements, risks, and mitigation strategies to stakeholders.
  5. Perform data analysis with computational support, maintain detailed electronic lab records, and present findings.
  6. Disclose research innovations internally to secure IP rights.
  7. Mentor and coach junior team members.

You should be comfortable in the wet lab, designing experiments, analyzing data, and communicating findings clearly. Good documentation and troubleshooting skills are essential, as is a collaborative mindset to tackle complex problems.

Minimum Requirements

  • MSc with 5+ years or PhD with 2+ years in molecular biology, biochemistry, or related fields, with a desire to continue learning.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and independence.
  • Expertise in experimental design, assay development, and data analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Motivation to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in startup settings.
  • Expertise in Directed Evolution, gene library synthesis, and NGS.
  • Knowledge of recombinase enzymology.

Recruitment Process

  1. Profile screening against requirements.
  2. Introductory call with CEO Jonathan Naccache.
  3. Technical interview with CTO Harry Kemble.
  4. On-site interviews focusing on team fit.

Join us in revolutionizing genome editing and making Cell and Gene Therapy accessible to millions. Apply now and help make a difference!
