As part of the ongoing Retail transformation, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Retail IT Project Manager to join the Chanel Tech Europe team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical and functional background, with proven experience in deploying Point of Sale (POS) systems across international retail environments.

Frequent travel to be expected - Position based in Neuilly.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead the planning and implementation of IT projects in the retail sector, focusing first on the deployment and integration of a new POS.
2. Play a critical role in ensuring the successful implementation of Chanel Tech Europe new POS system, from planning design and build to deployment and project handover to support team.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure technical solutions meet business requirements.
4. Coordinate with product managers, tech leads from numerous applications, development teams, QA and testing teams, and project/retail stakeholders to ensure that the POS MVP is delivered on time and meets the defined specifications.
5. Ensure the respect of scalability, reliability, and security principles by implementing best practices in cloud-native architecture, microservices design, and security.
6. Ensure the respect of Enterprise Architecture and integration guidelines.
7. Determine timeline, resources, and dependencies to ensure successful project completion on time and within budget.
8. Provide technical guidance to project team members.
9. Contribute to the communication on the progress of the project to stakeholders, including senior management, create and maintain documentation related to the project, and contribute to user manuals.
10. Manage software integrator.
11. Stay abreast of the latest retail technology trends and innovations.
12. Ensure compliance with local legislation and fiscality as well as industry standards and company policies.
13. Ensure project handover to support team.

Work Experience:

1. Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
2. Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT project management within the retail industry.
3. Proven experience in implementing and rolling out POS solutions in an international environment.
4. Strong functional and technical expertise in POS systems and retail software solutions.
5. Strong knowledge of POS localizations and fiscal requirements.
6. Deep understanding of Retail processes, POS systems, its technical architecture, and related technologies including db, OS, microservices, cloud technologies (MS Azure), and programming languages (e.g., Java).
7. Familiar with database management systems, such as MS SQL or Oracle.
8. Familiar with integration technologies, such as REST APIs or SOAP, and understand how the POS system can integrate with other systems, such as payment gateways, clienteling, and inventory apps.
9. Familiar with security technologies and best practices, such as encryption, authentication, and authorization, being able to ensure that the POS system is safe from security threats and that sensitive data is protected.
10. Familiar with performance monitoring tools and understand how to monitor the performance of the POS system to identify bottlenecks and optimize the system for better performance.
