Job summary

GE Vernova in France is seeking a Lead R&D Applications Engineer to drive technology development for smart grid solutions, collaborating with product managers and COEs to define roadmaps and deliver key AAA components.

You will lead complex power system projects, prototype algorithms, and guide teams through design, validation, and deployment while aligning with grid solutions’ strategic goals.

Qualifications

• Degree in renewable energies, electrical engineering, computer science, or similar field from an accredited university.
• Strong experience in developing and delivering power systems management, automation, protection and control applications in Linux and Windows using Agile processes.
• Proven experience in R&D solutions related to technology development in power systems, automation, protection and control domains.
• Demonstrated track record of influencing stakeholders through the R&D process to achieve customer outcomes.
• Pragmatic approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Technology development on power system control and management solutions for smart grid applications.
• System modelling and algorithm development using Matlab, Simulink, and Opal-RT for testing.
• Design and set-up of test environments with V&V teams for validation.
• Develop GUI views to support interaction environments and AAA deliveries.
• Develop functional blocks for embedded automation, analytics, forecasting, and protection systems.
• Lead projects as technical lead or Scrum Master as needed.
• Support AAA roadmap through technical leadership and innovation demonstrations.
• Contribute to Grid Solutions Innovation Lab and support business development and project delivery.
