Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide commercial advice to the project team.
• Draft responses for early warnings, compensation events, quotations, and proposed instructions. Use the general communication functions and liaise with the technical team on queries with a commercial impact.
• Ensure all contract timescales are met by managing CEMAR.
• Administer the contract in accordance with its scope, terms, and conditions.
• Lead the review of compensation events, including initial acceptance by the PM and collating project team comments.
• Assess payment applications and forecast project completion.
• Support weekly and monthly project progress meetings.
• Manage CEMAR at weekly Early Warning meetings.
• Contribute figures and narratives for monthly Project Management Review meetings.
• Attend weekly commercial meetings with the Contractor.
• Liaise with the Client CEMAR Superuser and commercial team for access, queries, and learning from experience.
• Prepare audit queries for Defined Costs as needed.
• Provide pre-contract support, including tender document preparation, assessment spreadsheets, and analysis.

Requirements

• Experience in a similar role or understanding of contract management, especially NEC.
• Familiarity with CEMAR.
• Support for Early Warnings and compensation events.
• Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS).
• Security clearance or ability to obtain SC clearance.
