Safran's corporate Progress direction is integrated into the Safran Quality and Progress direction, which is part of the Industrial, Purchasing and Performance Division. Its goal is to lead Safran towards the highest levels of performance through operational excellence, including achieving best-in-class industrial performance and consistently satisfying external customer expectations.

The ideal candidate will be highly experienced and will support internal "customers" (Safran tier companies) in their transformation plans, performance improvement initiatives, and projects across various industrial domains such as Total Quality Management, Manufacturing Excellence, Global Supply Chain Management (internal/external), and Product Industrialization using APQP. They will assist in deploying, embarking on, and sustaining operational excellence journeys, interacting across all operational domains and levels within the company, from top management to operational staff. The role involves a wide range of actions, including temporarily leading improvement or transformation projects, problem-solving, root cause analysis, change management, and coaching/training.

The Progress Leader:
  • Engages with all Safran companies to define their operational improvement scope.
  • Conducts diagnostics, root cause analysis, and problem-solving activities.
  • Develops and steers improvement plans.
  • Leads workshops and team activities as needed.
  • Sustains change management efforts with customer teams.
  • Utilizes Safran standards and methodologies to build sustainable solutions and contributes to their evolution.
  • Acts as a coach and sometimes as the initial project leader to transfer knowledge.
  • Organizes and leads training sessions, including those from Safran University.
Additional Qualifications and Experience:

The candidate should have extensive professional experience in industrial operations and continuous improvement activities, including supply chain, manufacturing, supplier performance, quality, and industrialization. They should have led numerous projects, re-organizations, industrial transfers, and transformations, capable of interacting at all organizational levels, including with top executives, to set visions, strategies, and solve complex operational issues. A deep understanding of the global context of the customer and their needs is essential.

Job Requirements:

Educational Background: Graduated Engineer.

  • At least 15-20 years of experience managing total quality in supply chain or industrial operations, preferably in aerospace but open to other industrial sectors like automotive, train, high-tech, or complex engineered products.
  • Good knowledge of MRP2 processes, supply chain referentials, and ERP tools; APICS certification or equivalent is a plus.
  • Knowledge of APQP and industrialization of engineered products.
  • Strong references in performance improvement, lean transformation, and digital evolution (e.g., master black belt level).
  • Proficiency in root cause analysis and problem resolution techniques (e.g., 8D, DMAIC).
  • Robust project management skills, capable of structuring complex projects from inception to completion.
  • Ability to lead major projects and facilitate team activities remotely if needed.
Additional Skills and Competencies:
  • Excellent listening, analysis, and synthesis skills.
  • Ability to challenge positively at all organizational levels.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
  • Team-oriented mindset with adaptability.
  • Persuasiveness and organizational skills using robust methods like Lean Six Sigma.
  • Comfort with digital tools and remote collaboration platforms.

The position is based at Safran SA offices in France, with responsibilities spanning all Safran sites globally. Frequent international travel may be required.
