Senior Quality & Progress Leader in Industrial Operations F/H

Safran's Quality and Progress directorate, part of the Industrial, Purchasing, and Performance Direction, is seeking senior leaders for the Safran Progress initiative (F/M). These leaders will support operational activities across Safran and its tier companies based in Europe.

The Safran corporate Progress direction is integrated within the Safran Quality and Progress direction, aiming to achieve operational excellence and meet external customer expectations. The successful candidate will assist internal « customers » (Safran tier companies) in their transformation, performance improvement initiatives, and projects within various industrial domains such as Total quality management, Manufacturing excellence, Global Supply chain management, and Product industrialization using APQP.

The role involves deploying, embedding, and sustaining operational excellence, interacting across all operational domains, and engaging at all organizational levels. The scope includes supporting improvement projects, problem-solving, root cause analysis, change management, and coaching/training activities.

The progress leader:

  • Engages with Safran companies to define action fields
  • Conducts diagnostics and root cause analyses
  • Develops and leads improvement plans
  • Facilitates workshops and team activities
  • Supports change management initiatives
  • Utilizes Safran standards and methodologies to develop sustainable solutions
  • Acts as a coach and project leader, transferring knowledge
  • Organizes and leads training sessions, including Safran University courses

The candidate should have extensive experience in industrial operations and continuous improvement, capable of interacting with all levels of customer organizations, including top executives, to align strategies and solve complex operational issues.

Qualifications include:

  • 15-20 years of experience in managing Total quality in supply chain or industrial operations, preferably in Aerospace, but other industries like Automotive or High Tech are also relevant
  • Knowledge of MRP2, supply chain tools, ERP systems; APICS certification or equivalent is a plus
  • Knowledge of APQP and product industrialization processes
  • Strong references in performance improvement, lean transformation, and digital evolution (e.g., Master Black Belt)
  • Proficiency in root cause analysis and problem resolution methods (8D/9S, DMAIC)
  • Project management skills for structuring and leading complex projects
  • Ability to lead teams in workshops, training, and remote activities

This position is based at Safran's offices in France, with responsibilities across all Safran sites globally. Frequent travel, including international, may be required.
