Description du poste

HEXAGON is a leading provider of advanced manufacturing solutions. We develop high-quality CAD/CAM software that drives a wide range of multi-axis CNC machine tools.

We are looking for an experienced Senior QA Software Engineer to help shape quality across our software products. This is a hands‑on senior QA role for someone who understands how software is developed, can read and discuss code with developers, and can contribute to automated testing and modern build pipelines. You will help ensure quality from planning through delivery - considering not only whether a feature works, but also usability, product quality and the way software is developed.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead QA activities for software teams developing our CAD/CAM and toolpath software components.
  • Design, implement and maintain effective test strategies, test plans and test cases, combining manual and automated testing where appropriate.
  • Build and improve test automation and quality checks across the software development lifecycle.
  • Work with developers and technical teams to understand software architecture, read code and identify risks early in the development process.
  • Understand, contribute to and improve modern build and CI/CD pipelines, including automation of quality checks where appropriate.
  • Challenge requirements, plans and approaches where needed to improve product quality, usability and overall customer value.
  • Collaborate closely with development and product teams in an agile Scrum environment and help mentor other QA engineers.
Qualifications
  • Several years of practical experience in software quality assurance, ideally in commercial or engineering software.
  • Strong understanding of software development processes and the ability to read and discuss source code with developers. You do not need to be a full‑time software developer.
  • Experience with test automation and a good understanding of programming concepts. Experience with C or C++ is particularly relevant; C# is also useful.
  • Understanding of modern build pipelines and CI/CD, with the ability to work with or improve automated build and quality processes.
  • Experience working in agile software development teams, ideally in a Scrum environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the confidence to question assumptions and identify quality risks early.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to work effectively with English‑speaking international teams.
  • Willingness to work remotely and collaborate across European teams and locations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands‑on experience with CAD/CAM software, engineering applications or other technically complex software. Experience as an actual software user or in an Application Engineering role is particularly valuable.
  • Experience with C/C++, C#, React or Qt is beneficial, but no specific framework is required.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools, automated testing frameworks or software testing certification such as ISTQB is advantageous.
What we offer:
  • A remote‑first role with the opportunity to work from across Europe, subject to local employment availability.
  • Opportunities to influence product quality, development processes and engineering practices in an international environment.
  • A collaborative, agile and technically diverse team working on advanced CAD/CAM software for CNC manufacturing.
