Summary / Role Purpose
The Senior Product Sales Manager (SPSM) is responsible for leading and supporting collaborative sales efforts to grow one or more product lines by building strong partnerships with field sales teams and channel partners. The SPSM aims to achieve sales quotas and support overall product-line success within an overlay structure.
The successful SPSM will ensure profitability and growth of assigned products by fostering strong partnerships, and will excel in presenting solutions that identify customer needs and develop compelling value propositions.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Execute product sales activities to meet or exceed revenue goals for assigned product lines.
- Engage in sales via phone and face-to-face interactions.
- Collaborate with sales teams and channel partners to develop and implement strategies that drive revenue.
- Identify opportunities within current and new accounts and pass leads to the sales team.
- Communicate updates on product capabilities, success stories, and strategies to sales and technical teams.
- Build and maintain relationships with current and prospective customers to generate new business.
- Participate in industry events and conferences.
- Create solution presentations tailored to customer needs, highlighting Ansys advantages over competitors.
- Coordinate technical support for demos, proofs of concept, evaluations, and training.
- Work with teams to develop proposals, quotations, and value propositions.
- Provide feedback from clients to product development and marketing teams.
Minimum Education/Certification and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical, engineering, business, or related field with 4+ years of sales or consulting experience, or 6+ years with a proven track record.
- Ability to work cross-functionally across teams and hierarchies.
- Independence in work with minimal supervision.
- Understanding of market position and sales fundamentals.
- Strong problem-solving skills and customer solution orientation.
- Fluency in English and local language of the territory.
- Travel up to 50%.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Knowledge of company products, pricing, engineering analysis, and technology.
- Excellent communication, organizational, presentation, and persuasion skills.
- Proficiency in networking via face-to-face and digital channels.
