Job summary

SSOE is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to join our team. This role leads projects from inception through construction, developing PFDs, P&IDs, process calculations, equipment specifications, and procurement.

You will collaborate with multi-discipline teams and support local clients as well as virtual project teams across locations. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience, a chemical engineering degree, and PE or PE-track.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering qualifies for licensure in the state of practice.
• Professional Engineering Licensure (PE) or tracked to becoming PE.
• 10+ years of working experience required.
• Exposure to chemical plants, metals processing, food, beverage or consumer product plants, and/or other related industrial settings strongly .
• Dust Collection or experience with Dust Hazard Analysis is a plus.
• Product Packaging experience is a plus.
• Experience with a chemical simulation program, such as ChemCAD or Aspen.
• Experience using Pipe Flo or AFT Fathom a plus.
• Ability to work in a client-facing role while partnering with contractors and vendors.
• Experience with building codes and chemical storage requirements.
• Experience with utility system equipment and distribution systems.
• Experience with industrial wastewater treatment a plus.

Responsibilities

• Leading engineering studies, write reports, develop and complete engineering calculations.
• Perform or assist with the development of PFDs and P&IDs, process calculations, equipment specifications, and procurement.
• Provide engineering oversite and checking of process deliverables.
• Coordinate with multi-discipline engineering and design teams to complete necessary project tasks.
• Assist in the creation of bid packages.
• Perform field work to support the above responsibilities.
