Based in Grenoble and Dunkirk (France), we have recently started operations at our Verkor Innovation Centre (R&D centre and 4.0 pilot line).

We are now focusing on building the world’s most modern and efficient Gigafactory in Dunkirk (France). Our ambition is to reach an initial annual production of 16 GWh of lithium-ion batteries by 2025, powering approximately 300,000 electric vehicles annually.

Position: Senior Prismatic Assembly Engineer

Location: Grenoble, France

Department: Process Development, Prismatic Development Team

Responsibilities:

1. Commissioning the proto, pilot, and Gigafactory assembly processes from process design to SOP.
2. Collaborating with the product engineering team to optimize the assembly process for the cell design.
3. Enhancing assembly through increased process automation to reduce capital and operating costs.
4. Testing and validating advanced technologies for use in the assembly process.
5. Conducting root cause investigations into defects during operation.

Requirements:

1. Proven exceptional ability in manufacturing engineering. Full responsibility for projects from start to finish.
2. Over 10 years of manufacturing engineering experience.
3. Experience in battery manufacturing, especially lithium-ion cell assembly.
4. Experience with environmentally sensitive products; clean room and dry room experience is advantageous.
5. Expertise in root cause analysis, defect reduction, and failure analysis.
6. Experience with custom automation equipment, including process requirements, testing plans, layouts, and utilities.
7. Strong statistical and data analysis skills using tools like Python, Matlab, and Minitab.
8. Preferred: M.S. in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Materials Engineering, or similar.
