Gama Space in Ivry-sur-Seine seeks a Senior Power Electronics Engineer to own the power conversion electronics for satellite power systems, from initial calculations to flight hardware.

You will design multi-kW DC/DC converters, design motor driver electronics for deployable structures, and validate prototypes with thorough EMI and thermal testing. English is required; space industry experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• MSc (or equivalent) in electrical engineering or power electronics.
• 5+ years hands-on converter design experience.
• Solid grounding in power converter topologies, magnetics design, and control theory.
• Practical experience with wide-bandgap devices (SiC/GaN): gate driving and high dv/dt layouts.
• Strong analog design skills including sensing chains, amplifiers, and protections.
• KiCad PCB design for power layout and EMI mitigation.
• Autonomy in the lab with scopes, probes and power analyzers.
• Professional English; additional languages welcome.

Responsabilités

• Design multi-kW-class DC/DC converters for satellite power systems, selecting semiconductors and gate drives.
• Design isolated and non-isolated auxiliary/bias supplies with optimized magnetics and isolation.
• Design motor driver electronics for deployable structures actuation.
• Perform circuit simulations: switching losses, thermal modeling and control loop stability.
• Build, bring up and validate prototypes: efficiency, thermal, and EMC characterization.
