Gama, a NewSpace startup based in Ivry-sur-Seine near Paris, seeks a Senior Power Electronics Engineer to own the heart of a satellite power system. You will design, develop, and validate high‑power DC/DC converters and drive electronics through schematic to flight hardware.

You will work in a small, fast‑moving team with strong emphasis on hands‑on development, test results, and data‑driven learning. English proficiency required; other languages welcome.

Qualifications

• MSc in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 5+ years hands-on converter design experience.
• Solid foundation in power converter topologies, magnetics design, and control theory.
• Practical experience with wide-bandgap devices (SiC/GaN): gate driving, switching characterization, high dv/dt layouts.
• Strong analogue design skills: sensing, amplifiers, comparators, protections.
• PCB design proficiency (KiCad) with power layout and EMI mitigation.
• Autonomy in the lab with oscilloscopes, differential probes, and electronic loads.
• Excellent analytical skills and proactive attitude; ownership of end-to-end scope.
• Professional level English; additional languages welcome.

Responsabilités

• Design and develop multi‑kW‑class DC/DC converters for satellite power systems, including semiconductor selection and thermal management.
• Design isolated and non‑isolated auxiliary power supplies (buck, flyback, push‑pull, LLC) with appropriate magnetics and isolation considerations.
• Design motor driver electronics for deployable structures.
• Perform circuit simulations, thermal modeling, worst‑case analysis, and control loop stability assessments.
• Build, bring up, and validate prototypes in the lab with EMC and efficiency characterization.
