Role Overview:

As Global Senior Packaging Machine Engineer, you will be part of the Global Technology group, composed of a select team of technology engineers leading equipment-focused technology platforms.

In collaboration with internal and external partners, you will actively drive activities around end-of-line packaging and define future standards.

Your responsibilities will include optimizing existing operations, defining new standards for high-efficiency lines with safety, ergonomic, and change-over improvements, and striving for zero plastic-waste solutions.

This position reports to the Global Packaging Engineer Lead.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Own and drive global standardization and best practices for End-of-Line packaging. Lead the smart automation roadmap for manual lines.
  2. Technology scouting and identification of strategic equipment suppliers in collaboration with Purchasing.
  3. Provide URS for new line installations and participate actively in Capex projects.
  4. Analyze data and research to improve packaging processes and implement relevant solutions.
  5. Leverage innovative technical solutions (e.g., robots) to drive cost and ergonomic improvements.
  6. Develop and implement standards to ensure integrated product integrity and traceability.
  7. Lead development of flexible format use and alternative packaging solutions aiming for zero plastic waste.
  8. Create and lead Packaging community of practice across cross-functional, cross-regional teams.
  9. Ensure end-to-end leadership to evaluate business attractiveness and rally stakeholder networks for approvals.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Master's degree or equivalent in packaging or mechanical engineering
  • 5-10+ years of experience in FMCG, Food, or Fragrance & Flavors industry.
  • Strong knowledge in Continuous Improvement, Lean principles (SMED, AM/PM, Hygienic Design, Ergonomics), and machine safety.
  • Knowledge of key packaging solutions and materials.
  • Proven experience in technology development & implementation, focusing on end-of-line packaging equipment.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills; leadership abilities to build relationships in international, cross-functional, and remote setups.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
