Infinite Orbits PTE Ltd. in Toulouse seeks an experienced optical engineer to develop, characterize, and calibrate space camera systems. You will own camera characterization benches, drive test campaigns, and help improve test facilities and the camera itself.

You will perform optical and radiometric characterizations, develop automated data-analysis tools, and contribute to test-method improvements while collaborating with an international team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in optics, imaging, electro-optics, camera systems or applied physics.
• Engineering or Master’s degree in optics, photonics, imaging, physics or related field.
• Strong interest in experimental work and hands-on laboratory activities.
• Experience with imaging systems and optical characterization.
• Familiarity with CMOS sensors and camera fundamentals.

Responsabilités

• Definition of calibration procedures and camera performance models.
• Characterization of optical performance including PSF, MTF, focus, field dependence, distortion, vignetting, boresight.
• Characterization of radiometric and detector performance including linearity, sensitivity, dynamic range, read noise, dark current, DSNU/PRNU, gain and SNR.
• Characterization under representative operating conditions including illumination, exposure, focus and temperature.
• Development of automated acquisition and data-analysis tools.
• Analysis of unexpected or limiting performance, identifying origin and designing experiments to investigate it.
• Review and improvement of existing test methods to increase accuracy, repeatability and efficiency.
• Feedback on camera architecture based on characterization results (optical design, detector conditions, calibration strategy, alignment, acquisition, image processing).
