Job summary

Ubisoft, a global leader in gaming, seeks a Senior Legal Counsel, Music, based in Paris. You will serve as the go-to legal expert for music licensing, synchronization, and related contracts, supporting game production teams worldwide.

You will provide strategic guidance in both French and English, ensuring compliance with Ubisoft policies while enabling creative teams to work confidently. You will draft and negotiate music agreements, train and support cross‑functional teams, and stay ahead of

Qualifications

• Significant experience in music law, spanning publishing and/or recorded music, ideally in-house.
• Strong track record drafting and negotiating music contracts including synchronization licenses.
• Comfortable managing several projects concurrently in an international environment.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate music-related agreements (licensing, commissioning, distribution) in French and English across various third-party relationships.
• Provide strategic and practical legal advice to production teams translating concepts for non-legal audiences.
• Be the go-to contact for music-related content questions, guiding teams to move forward.
• Support and train creative teams globally and collaborate with other counsels to build tools.
• Monitor shifts in legal landscape and business developments affecting production.
• Ensure conformity with Ubisoft’s policies and risk tolerance and improve standard form agreements.
• Collaborate with outside counsel on sensitive pre-litigation matters.
