We are working with an established semiconductor company looking for a Senior MMIC Design Engineer to join its growing European Design Centre in Munich.

You will contribute to the development of cutting-edge RF and mmWave semiconductor products used across high-performance wireless applications.

The Opportunity:

As a Senior MMIC Design Engineer, you will support the design and characterisation of high-power, high-efficiency MMICs across a wide frequency range. You’ll collaborate closely with senior technical leads and process experts to deliver state-of-the-art GaN and GaAs-based solutions for next-generation systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and simulation of RF/mmWave MMICs, with a focus on Power Amplifiers (PAs).
  • Contribute to semiconductor process evaluation, device modelling, and circuit optimisation.
  • PCB design for evaluation boards and thermal management simulations (ICEPACK familiarity a plus).
  • Perform measurements, validation, and debugging of prototypes in the lab.
  • Engage in cross-functional teamwork to ensure robust product development from concept to release.
Ideal Profile:
  • 3+ years of experience in RF/mmWave MMIC design, ideally with work extending up to 86GHz.
  • Solid expertise in GaN and/or GaAs-based high-frequency amplifier design.
  • Proficiency with design tools such as ADS, AWR, HFSS, and EM simulation packages.
  • MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within an experienced engineering team.
  • Previous experience as a Senior MMIC Design Engineer or ambition to grow into a senior position.
