To reinforce its Legal Department, ensure high quality services and address the business needs of the company, we are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Legal Expert specialized in Trademark Law and Brand Protection, eager to join our dynamic Legal team in a diverse and fast-moving high technology-focused environment.

This role reports into our Head of IP and will focus on all aspects of trademark law and brand protection in the digital space.

Your Mission:

Brand Protection: Combining processes and expertise to ensure Ledger brand and consumers are protected online from scams, impersonations, counterfeits, and other threats or forms of IP infringement.

1. Identify, investigate, and take necessary actions against scams, phishing, and infringement activities on social media, websites, and marketplaces.
2. Manage vendors to ensure timely and effective responses and actions.
3. Collaborate with law enforcement authorities and other external stakeholders to address online brand abuse.
4. Work cross-functionally and facilitate the internal Brand Protection Committee.

Trademark Portfolio Management, Enforcement, and Strategy:

1. Preparing trademark applications and other prosecution documents for filing; monitoring and maintaining applications through registration worldwide.
2. Setting and implementing processes and best practices to support key projects and assist in the protection and launch of new products and services.
3. Managing trademark oppositions, cancellations, and litigation around the world.
4. Resolving trademark disputes using negotiation skills, judgment, creativity, and legal expertise.
5. Developing and implementing global and regional trademark strategies to enhance Ledger brand value.
6. Coordinating and facilitating the internal Trademark Committee.

Agreements and Negotiation: Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts across a broad range of areas including marketing, product design & procurement.

IP Awareness and Business Support: Raising IP culture across the business and ensuring compliance with our Trademark Guidelines. Advising and ensuring that internal stakeholders receive sound, practical, and timely legal advice on IP/trademarks and brand protection related matters.

Emerging Trends and Data Analysis: Advising on global changes in legislation and identifying opportunities for Ledger in your area of expertise. Stay abreast of legal developments and industry best practices in the field.

Wide IP Support: Depending on the Ledger business needs, you will be prepared to support across a wide range of IP areas (AI, specific Web3 issues…) in an industry that is fast-paced and constantly evolving.

Budget: Setting, forecasting, tracking, and controlling Trademark/Brand Protection legal spend.

What We Are Looking For:

1. Minimum 10 years of experience in IP, with expertise in online Trademark and Brand Protection.
2. Stakeholders' relationship management within a wide range of activities.
3. A track record in protecting brands and users against online scams.
4. An educational background in Law, with an IP specialization preferred.
5. Fluent in English (French would be a plus) with excellent communication skills.
6. A good knowledge of blockchain technology and Web3 or a keen interest in learning about the space.
7. A proven ability to independently lead and execute challenging engagements with integrity.
8. A collaborative mindset with an ability to work independently.
9. Able to offer both practical and theoretical advice.
10. Strong entrepreneurship mindset, creative, flexible, and adaptable.
