Job summary

Eutelsat is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to drive the Iris2 project, leading negotiations and drafting across launch services, satellite manufacturing, technology licensing, and major supplier agreements.

You will act as a trusted adviser to the Iris2 team, delivering commercially-focused legal guidance, managing risk, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders in a multi-jurisdictional environment. This role also involves mentoring junior lawyers.

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer (France or Italy) with 6–8+ years PQE.
• Experience leading, drafting, and negotiating complex, high-value commercial contracts as lead lawyer.
• Experience in space, satellite, defence, or similarly regulated sectors.
• Track record advising at pace on live, high-profile multi-stakeholder programmes.
• Some experience supervising or mentoring junior lawyers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the drafting, review, and negotiation of complex contracts across launch services, satellite manufacturing, technology licensing, and major infrastructure agreements.
• Provide proactive, commercially-focused legal advice that enables business objectives while managing risk.
• Collaborate with the wider Legal team on Iris2 matters and support the Legal Director - Projects and Procurement & Engineering.
• Oversee and guide junior lawyers working on Iris2 matters and allocate matters.
