The Senior Legal Counsel acts as legal business advisor, manages strategic and routine legal commercial and litigation matters globally and develops over time as a well-rounded senior legal business partner for the various regional and international teams.
Main activities
- Supports and implements senior management strategies in the CRM Business Line in order to achieve profitable commercial business objectives;
- Works as a trusted and proactive advisor to the GC and internal business clients, providing clear communication of business risks, potential mitigation of risks, and solution-oriented options;
- Provides line management and purchasing teams with assistance in negotiating and drafting contracts and commercial agreements of all kinds (notably service, supply, procurement, sales);
- Advises business partners on domestic and international commercial, contract, lifescience regulations, and healthcare industry (medical devices) best practices;
- Assists in developing and maintaining the company’s policies, procedures, documentation, and communication materials;
- Partners with other functions (Finance, Sales, Procurement, etc.) in order to achieve business goals / mitigate risks;
- Collaborates with team members to ensure global and regional / local market appropriate strategies are executed;
- Supports on corporate secretarial matters and assists in managing portfolio of legal advisors where needed;
- Advises and provides compliance guidance on the company's relationships with healthcare centers and healthcare professionals;
- Follows-up with changes in law and issues recommendations to ensure compliance.

Qualifications
- Strong 7+ years of relevant work experience from existing in-house role or from corporate / commercial department of an international law firm (preferred). Experience in the healthcare industry – and in particular the medical device sector – is preferred. Exposure to previous experience working with executives and board members is considered a plus. Data Protection and IP related experience are a strong asset.
- Strong experience with commercial and business law, transactional practices, contract drafting / reviewing / negotiating. Experience in IP and M&A would be a plus.
Language Skills
- English & French : Excellent spoken and written;
- 1 or 2 other European languages (preferably Italian) are a strong asset.
