We are seeking a Senior Legal Counsel for France, based in Dunkerque, Florange, Fos, or Paris, reporting to the General Counsel France. If you want to be part of pioneering projects for CO2-neutral steel production and play a key role in our Legal and Compliance team, read on.

MISSION:

You will provide legal support across all business affairs in France, including contracts, industrial and commercial partnerships, joint ventures, restructurings, energy, corporate law, and environmental matters. This role requires strong project management and leadership skills, with the ability to coach colleagues and promote efficiency and excellence.

You will advise on various legal issues in different business environments, with an interest in French Company Law and M&A transactions, especially in complex projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific duties include:

  1. Acting as a trusted senior legal advisor, providing pragmatic counsel while minimizing legal risks.
  2. Advising on commercial and corporate matters, focusing on areas like contracts, partnerships, and transactions.
  3. Training business teams and legal colleagues on relevant legal topics.
  4. Supporting cross-border legal initiatives and sharing best practices.
  5. Maintaining communication with Group Legal and reporting on relevant matters.
  6. Supporting special projects and benchmarking initiatives.

Competencies and Experience :

  • Approximately 10 years of experience in commercial and corporate law, with a focus on M&A, joint ventures, restructurings, and complex projects.
  • Experience in an international law firm or global company is required.
  • Fluent in English and French, both spoken and written.

Education :

  • Master’s degree in Law from a French university, preferably in Business Law.
  • Bar membership or experience in France is mandatory.

  • Ability to analyze and resolve complex legal issues.
  • Understanding of ArcelorMittal’s business and markets.
