Senior Legal Counsel
Position may be located in France or Italy

Role and Responsibilities

As a Senior Advisor to the Europe South Hub (France, Italy, and Greece):

1. Be a trusted and dedicated senior legal advisor for the Hub, aligning with business leaders and coordinating with other legal counsels on legal, compliance, and governance matters including sales, distribution, retail, marketing, competition, procurement, operations, employment, and corporate issues.
2. Contribute to strategic discussions, projects, and activities with business leaders to fulfill strategic objectives, in coordination with other legal counsels of the Europe South Hub.
3. Monitor and communicate policies, applicable laws, and regulations to support sustainable business. Manage litigations and investigations locally. Provide training and ensure alignment with outside counsels to protect local organizations' interests within budget. Draft and review agreements and legal documentation.
4. Ensure compliance with corporate policies such as the Business Conduct Manual and Anti-Bribery policies. Handle non-compliance issues in collaboration with Legal Directors. Offer training and coaching on compliance topics.
5. Collaborate effectively with other legal team members across EMEA, align with business leaders, and liaise with the EMEA Legal Leadership Team and corporate legal department. Act as a mentor and lead certain legal activities or practice groups.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Civil Law from a university in EMEA. Admitted to practice law in an EMEA jurisdiction.
• At least 10 years of post-qualification experience as an attorney and legal counsel, including in law firms and business environments, with knowledge of company, commercial, litigation, regulatory, financial, data privacy, and labor law.
• Experience in a business or commercial environment and participation in management steering or executive teams.
• Understanding or interest in the tire or automotive industry is a plus. International exposure, experience in matrix organizations, and dual reporting lines are desirable.
• Strong interpersonal skills: confidence, relationship-building, effective communication at all levels, and managing competing priorities.
• Sound commercial judgment, decision-making ability, and facing challenges collaboratively with executive management.
• Fluent in English and French and/or Italian; additional languages are a plus.
