BeReal is seeking a Senior iOS Camera & Video Engineer to join our team in Paris. You will build and optimize the camera and media pipelines behind BeReal’s core flows, including multi-camera capture, instant capture, front/back video composition, and media quality.

This hands-on role requires deep AVFoundation expertise, strong Swift skills, and a focus on performance, latency, and reliability across iPhone models.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of iOS experience with camera/media features.
• Strong AVFoundation/iOS camera API knowledge.
• Experience in real-time camera, image, and video pipelines.
• Strong Swift and multithreading skills.
• Experience with profiling tools (Instruments, Time Profiler).

Responsabilités

• Design, build, and maintain high-performance camera and video features on iOS.
• Own and improve parts of the AVFoundation camera stack: capture sessions, devices, formats, frame rates, exposure.
• Build and optimize real-time image and video processing pipelines.
• Improve capture quality, latency, stability, and smoothness across iPhone models.
• Work on multi-camera flows, front/back video composition, encoding, export, and audio/video sync.
• Optimize CPU, GPU, memory, battery usage, and multithreaded processing.
• Investigate device/iOS-version behaviors and trade-offs.
• Collaborate with iOS engineers, product, design, backend, and data teams.
• Contribute to codebase and raise engineering standards around media performance.
