Job summary

Swan is seeking a Senior Internal Controller to join the Internal Control team in the Compliance, Risk & Internal Control department. The role focuses on designing, deploying and managing a permanent control system to safeguard core product operations while aligning growth with regulatory constraints.

You will work with a team of internal controllers and the Risk department, collaborating across Swan’s Payments, Sales, Finance and Compliance teams to strengthen risk management and control

Qualifications

• 5–6 years of experience in internal control or audit, preferably in fintech.
• Experience in a regulated environment.
• Strong ability to adapt quickly to changing situations.
• Fluent in English and French.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the internal control framework and second-level control plans.
• Conduct second-level control missions to assess first-level controls.
• Analyze control results and produce detailed risk reports.
• Formulate strategic recommendations and monitor their implementation.

Job description

Swan is looking for an Senior Internal Controller to join the Internal Control team within the Compliance, Risk & Internal Control department. The team’s mission is to safeguard our core product operations by effectively aligning business growth with legal, regulatory, and customer support constraints..

Your mission

Your primary mission is to design, deploy and manage the permanent control system within Swan by ensuring risk management, compliance with applicable regulations and the efficiency of operational processes while supporting business growth.

Main Tasks

• Develop and implement the internal control framework, including the definition and regular updates of second-level control plans and the oversight of the incident management cycle (identification, reporting and remediation of anomalies)

• Conduct second-level control missions to evaluate the effectiveness of existing first-level control systems.

• Analyze control results and produce detailed reports to identify gaps and improve overall risk management performance.

• Formulate strategic recommendations based on findings and monitor their implementation to mitigate identified risks.

• Manage internal control tools and update risk mapping through quarterly meetings with key department heads.

• Support operational teams in formalizing their internal procedures and defining relevant first-level controls.

• Document and maintain comprehensive procedures specifically related to second-level control activities.

• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to foster a strong risk culture throughout the organization.

You will work closely with Terry and Kani, internal controllers, as well as all members of Swan’s Risk department, to strengthen our internal control framework and foster a shared risk culture across the organization.

You will also collaborate with teams across Swan, including Payments, Sales, Finance, Compliance and more, to support effective risk management in their day-to-day activities.

Preferred experience

You’re a great match if:

• You have a 5-6 years experience in Internal control / audit. Ideally you have an experience/background in a Fintech environment, payment institution or bank.

• You have experience in a regulated environment

• You have a strong ability to adapt easily and quickly to the situation or the request.

• You have good working abilities in English & in French.
