Job summary

IOTA Group in Paris or Lisbon seeks a Senior Installation Engineer to lead offshore installation projects and coordinate I&C activities across SURF-focused offshore campaigns.

You will interface across engineering, management, and clients, ensuring readiness, safety, and quality while guiding junior engineers in design reviews and constructability analyses.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• 6–8 years of offshore/subsea installation experience.
• Expertise in SURF and offshore vessel operations.
• Experience in Umbilical Installation, Flexible Lay, and Lifting Operations.
• Knowledge of risk assessments, mitigation, and change management.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and lead multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate Installation & Construction engineering activities across project packages, tenders, and engineering studies.
• Act as the key technical interface between engineering teams, project management, clients, and offshore operations.
• Review the installability of subsea equipment, tooling, and products, including third-party solutions.
• Coordinate engineering activities related to Umbilical Installation, Flexible Lay, and Lifting Operations.
• Manage engineering deliverables, technical documentation, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Conduct constructability reviews, risk assessments, and operational readiness reviews.
• Participate in Design Reviews and HAZID workshops, ensuring installation requirements are addressed during project development.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate installation risks while managing technical changes.
• Support offshore operations, including vessel mobilisation and offshore installation campaigns.

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Installation Engineer to join our team and contribute to major international subsea and offshore installation projects on behalf of one of our global industry partners.

Job Description

As a Senior Installation Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating Installation & Construction (I&C) engineering activities across offshore and subsea projects, ensuring technical compliance, operational readiness, and efficient execution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate Installation & Construction engineering activities across project packages, tenders, and engineering studies.
• Act as the key technical interface between engineering teams, project management, clients, and offshore operations.
• Review the installability of subsea equipment, tooling, and products, including third-party solutions.
• Coordinate engineering activities related to Umbilical Installation, Flexible Lay, and Lifting Operations.
• Manage engineering deliverables, technical documentation, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Conduct constructability reviews, risk assessments, and operational readiness reviews.
• Participate in Design Reviews and HAZID workshops, ensuring installation requirements are addressed during project development.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate installation risks while managing technical changes.
• Support offshore operations, including vessel mobilisation and offshore installation campaigns.
• Collaborate with procurement and engineering teams to develop technical specifications and evaluate installation equipment.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to engineers, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and engineering standards.
• Promote continuous improvement through lessons learned, innovative installation methodologies, and industry best practices.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

• Master's degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Minimum 6–8 years of professional experience in the offshore/subsea installation industry.
• Strong technical expertise in Subsea Umbilicals, Risers and Flowlines (SURF) and offshore vessel operations.
• Proven engineering experience in Umbilical Installation, Flexible Lay, and Lifting Operations.
• Experience in offshore installation engineering, construction methodologies, and equipment installability.
• Demonstrated expertise in risk assessments, risk mitigation, and management of change.
• Ability to coordinate and lead multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Experience supporting offshore installation projects, from engineering preparation to execution.

Technical & Soft Skills:

• Strong understanding of subsea installation methodologies and offshore construction operations.
• Ability to manage technical interfaces across multiple engineering disciplines.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to mentor and guide junior engineers.
• Familiarity with HAZID, constructability assessments, and readiness reviews.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.
• Portuguese is an advantage.
