Job summary

AVENTA, a major international EPC contractor, seeks a Senior Installation Engineer to join the Paris Pipeline Group. The role covers offshore pipeline installation methods (reel lay, S-lay, J-lay) from tendering through offshore execution, coordinating a diverse team of installation engineers across global projects.

You will oversee method statements, support procurement and subcontract follow-up, and deliver regular project reporting.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Mechanical, Civil, Naval, Marine, Offshore Technology or equivalent.
• 5–12 years as a project engineer in offshore energy.
• Experience in offshore pipeline installation methods (reel lay, S-lay, J-lay).
• Experience guiding and leading engineers on project scopes.
• Fluent English; French is a plus.

Job description

For one of our clients, a major international EPCI contractor, we are looking for a Senior Installation Engineer to join their Pipeline Group in their Paris office. The Pipeline Group supports pipelay projects worldwide, and its installation engineers play an integral part in solving complex engineering problems, overseeing critical technical subjects on projects and business improvement initiatives. You will work within a diverse team of installation engineers, coordinating pipeline installation methods on global projects in execution or at tender stage, supporting the day-to-day running of the team and following your scope from early client engagement all the way to offshore execution.

What you will do

• Support a team of methods engineers on project scopes, from early engagement with internal and external clients through to offshore execution on reel lay, S-lay or J-lay assets
• Act as technical reference for pipeline installation and contribute to subcontractor selection
• Produce installation method statements and procedures
• Support procurement activities and subcontract follow-up
• Perform installation rigging calculations and rigging design
• Assist the tendering team with feasibility studies, method statements, manhour estimates, schedule inputs and costing support
• Support installation aids procurement, fabrication and testing follow-up
• Provide regular operational reporting on project engineering activities, technical topics and resource management
• Proactively support HSEQ activities, and prepare and deliver technical presentations
• Follow your scope offshore on installation vessels

What you bring

• Engineering degree in Mechanical, Civil, Naval, Marine, Offshore Technology or equivalent
• 5 to 12 years of experience as a project engineer, mostly within the offshore energy industry
• Experience in offshore pipeline installation methods (reel lay, S-lay, J-lay), reel lay being a strong plus
• Experience guiding and leading engineers on project scopes
• Clear communicator, comfortable with all levels of the organisation, autonomous and a team player
• Fluent English, French is a plus

A long-term contract assignment with a leading subsea pipelay player, on international projects from tender to offshore execution. The role is based in their Paris office four days a week, with one day of home working. Start date: November 2026.
