Job Title: Human Resources & Office Manager

Job Details
  • Location: Fully Remote (must have remote-first experience and French labour law knowledge)
  • Employment Type: Full-time
  • Role Overview: Lead HR and operational excellence across a remote-first team, shaping culture, managing HR processes, and ensuring systems scale effectively.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Human Resources:
    • Attract and retain top talent through effective recruitment strategies.
    • Lead performance management and promote employee well-being.
    • Design and implement career development frameworks.
    • Manage and automate HR administration processes (payroll, expenses, attendance, travel).
    • Ensure compliance with labour regulations in an international environment.
    • Define and monitor HR KPIs such as gender balance, equal pay, and engagement.
    • Coach and empower managers to grow as leaders.
    • Support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
    • Implement and manage HR tools suitable for a distributed workforce.
    • Manage payroll operations in collaboration with finance.
  2. Office & Culture Management:
    • Foster and maintain a remote-first work culture.
    • Organise virtual and hybrid events to support connection and morale.
    • Act as a key contact for remote operations and communication practices.
    • Promote digital efficiency through platforms like Slack, Notion, and HRIS tools.
Requirements
  • Fluent in French and English; third language a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of French labour law (Master’s degree or PhD preferred).
  • Based in Paris, supporting remote operations.
  • Proven HR experience in an early-stage startup (Series A–B, <100 employees).
  • Experience with remote-only or remote-first environments.
  • Experience implementing HR tools and systems in startups.
  • Strong knowledge of digital tools like Slack, Google Workspace, or Microsoft Office.
  • Experience managing payroll and administrative processes.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Nice to Have
  • Background in recruitment or agency work.
  • Scientific training in biology, biotech, or computer science.
  • Coaching certification or leadership development experience.
