Job Title: Human Resources & Office Manager (FULLY REMOTE)

Role Overview: Looking for a proactive and strategic Human Resources & Office Manager (HRO Manager) to lead HR and operational excellence across a remote-first team. You will shape our culture, manage all core HR processes, and ensure our systems, tools, and people strategies scale effectively with the company’s growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Human Resources: Attract and retain top talent through effective recruitment strategies; Lead performance management and promote employee well-being; Design and implement career development frameworks; Manage and automate HR administration processes (e.g., payroll, expenses, attendance, travel); Ensure compliance with labour regulations in a multicultural, international environment; Define and monitor HR KPIs such as gender balance, equal pay, and employee engagement; Coach and empower managers to grow as leaders; Support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives; Implement and manage HR tools and platforms suitable for a distributed workforce; Manage end-to-end payroll operations in collaboration with finance/accounting partners.
- Office & Culture Management: Foster and maintain a thriving remote-first work culture; Organise internal virtual and hybrid events to support connection and morale; Act as a key point of contact for remote operations and asynchronous communication practices; Promote digital efficiency and collaboration, especially through platforms like Slack, Notion, and HRIS tools.
Requirements
- Fluent in both French and English (a third language is a plus).
- Strong knowledge of French labour law (Master’s degree or PhD preferred).
- Based in Paris, with the ability to support remote-first operations.
- Proven experience in an HR role within an early-stage startup (Series A–B, under 100 employees).
- Must have experience working in a remote-only or remote-first environment.
- Must have implemented HR tools and systems in a start-up context.
- Strong working knowledge of tools such as Slack.
- Experience managing payroll and related administrative processes.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Proficient in Google Workspace (GSuite) or Microsoft Office.
Nice to Have:
- Background in recruitment or agency experience.
- Scientific training in biology, biotechnology, or computer science.
- Coaching certification or demonstrated leadership development experience.
