Summary / Role Purpose

The Senior HPC DevOps Engineer manages DevOps activities for one or more software products, utilizing advanced technical skills to resolve complex issues and meet development goals. The role involves managing operations in High-Performance Computing (HPC) environments, including customizing, configuring, and debugging HPC schedulers like SLURM, LSF, and PBA, ensuring system performance for demanding computational workloads.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and maintain HPC systems for optimal performance.
• Customize and troubleshoot job schedulers such as SLURM, PBA, LSF.
• Collaborate to resolve infrastructure and packaging problems.
• Perform debugging and testing to streamline processes.
• Build and package open-source third-party software.
• Maintain tools, infrastructure, and build environments.
• Participate in technical reviews and uphold best practices.

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

• BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 5 years’ experience, MS with 3 years’ experience.
• At least 3 years of hands-on HPC deployment and configuration experience.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

• Knowledge of software development tools, compilers, and packaging.
• Experience with Windows/Linux OS, cloud, and DevOps technologies like Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go.
• Passion for building automated build systems.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
