Job summary

Qonto is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to build the financial infrastructure trusted by 750,000+ European SMEs. You will work on highly scalable APIs and real-time banking services, collaborating with product, design, and mobile teams in a mission-driven culture.

You will join one of our small, autonomous squads led by an Engineering Manager. Expect ownership of end-to-end features, with emphasis on reliability and maintainability.

Qualifications

• Experience with large-scale web applications and production constraints.
• Fluent in English; comfortable working in squad teams with PMs and Designers.
• Willing to relocate to Paris or join remotely from France.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, deploy, and maintain services handling real financial transactions.
• Co-own service architecture, resilience, and scalability using DDD principles.
• Grow in technical leadership: lead design discussions and mentor peers.
• Drive continuous improvement, fix flaky CI, and share learnings across teams.
• Contribute to discovery, make technical decisions, monitor production, raise quality.
