We’re shaping the future of a $10T industry with solutions powered by innovative technology and exceptional people. Today, companies of all sizes—from emerging brands to Fortune 500s—use Flexport technology to move more than $19B of merchandise across 112 countries a year.

The recent global supply chain crisis has put Flexport center stage as we continue to play a pivotal role in how goods move around the world. We are proud to have the support of the best investors in the game who believe in our mission, solutions and people. Ready to tackle global challenges that impact business, society, and the environment? Come join us.

The opportunity:

The role of the Operations Associate is a critical part of making Flexport’s mission to make global trade easy for everyone a reality. Flexport today connects almost 10,000 clients and suppliers across 109 countries. In this role, your direct customers are the partners within your region: our account management and customs teams, subcontractors, carriers, terminals and trucking providers. Your work directly supports Flexport’s end customers in achieving their logistics goals. Most importantly, you will play a pivotal role in building the next operational model at Flexport: allowing us to effectively scale to achieve our mission of making global trade easier for everyone.

This role is designed to facilitate the movement of shipments while discovering and driving efficiencies that build and improve operations as part of our Global team. You will be responsible for ensuring that all customer shipments are executed according to plan, on time and within budget. As the person who manages movement in your region with laser focus, you have the unique opportunity to help your regional account team spot opportunities to improve and grow our customers’ business. You will drive impact through surfacing new ideas to eliminate waste, improve customer experience or introducing innovative ways of managing a supply chain.

Responsibilities:

  • Be the "front line" in ensuring the highest standard of Flexport quality: shipments move on-time and exceptions are handled appropriately

  • Be responsible for ensuring your work satisfies internal KPIs and SLAs that demonstrate quality delivery

  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOP)

  • Solve client issues quickly and ensure smooth operations at origin and destination and elevate issues as needed

  • Acting in the best interest of the company by avoiding leakages and ensuring cost conscious behavior

  • Seamlessly coordinate day-to-day logistics operations with internal and external partners such as steamship lines, air carriers, intermodal and drayage vendors, customs, trade lane management, warehousing, transloading, trucking, and the air operations team

  • Execute the end-to-end movement of freight shipments within a regional network (both imports and exports), including intermodal movements

  • Assist the shipments managed by partners as we drive partner autonomy (if applicable in a given region)

Prerequisites:

  • BA/BS Degree or completed professional training as forwarding agent

  • 3+ years of experience in freight forwarding, and direct Air export experience

  • Fluent in French and English (other European languages are a plus)

  • Able to adapt to new technology and can thrive in a fast paced environment

  • Effective time management, be able to properly prioritize and manage a large volume of tasks

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to effectively seek and receive feedback

  • Effective communication both verbally and in writing

  • Teamwork and relationship building

  • Orientation towards working smarter and adopting best practices and standardization

  • Problem-solving capabilities

  • A "compliance first" attitude to keep our regulators happy and enthusiastic about Flexport since we operate in a heavily regulated industry

What else:

  • You will work in a beautiful office in the city center of Paris with modern office equipment and a first class connection to the public transport system of Paris.

  • You will work in a fast growing and changing environment with a high motivated team, which is always open to hear your ideas

  • We invest in your personal and professional development by offering you internal and external trainings

  • During regular team events you can have a lot of fun with your teammates and connect with them aside from your working day

What we offer:

  • An opportunity to contribute to one of the fastest-growing companies, where you’ll have the chance to create a global impact while being a part of a thriving multinational environment

  • 25 working days working days of paid annual leave per complete year of service

  • The employee shall be affiliated to the French social security system (Sécurité sociale) and the mandatory supplementary pension schemes (retraite complémentaire AGIRC-ARRCO) in accordance with applicable law. Employer and employee contributions shall be calculated and deducted in accordance with statutory rates.

  • 50% reimbursement of the cost of the public transportation subscription(s) used for travel between your place of residence and the workplace.

  • Employer's collective supplementary health insurance scheme (mutuelle d'entreprise) as required by law. Flexport shall contribute at least 50% of the premium for the base coverage.
