Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Game Designer based in France.

This is a senior creative role focused on designing and implementing engaging content and complex gameplay systems for a successful live mobile game.
You will shape characters, progression mechanics, events, combat systems, and other features from initial concept through final implementation.
The role combines creative game design with rigorous analysis of player behaviour, game data, feedback, and in-game outcomes.
You will help evolve the game economy, loops, and combat meta while creating meaningful strategic depth and healthy player engagement.
Working closely with art, engineering, production, and other design stakeholders, you will help maintain a sustainable and high-quality content pipeline.
The environment is highly autonomous, experimental, collaborative, and globally distributed, with a strong emphasis on impact and continuous learning.
This is an opportunity for a passionate mobile game designer to influence a major live title and contribute to experiences enjoyed by a large international player base.

Accountabilities
  • Own the design of complex features and content, including progression systems, event frameworks, combat updates, and new characters, from high-level concepts through final data implementation.

  • Architect and implement gameplay systems that support compelling player experiences and long-term engagement.

  • Analyze and refine the game economy, core gameplay loops, and combat meta to maintain balance and strategic depth.

  • Use player data, feedback, and forecasting to evaluate designs, identify opportunities, and guide iterative improvements.

  • Create clear, high-level design documentation that explains the purpose, mechanics, and expected outcomes of proposed features.

  • Present and defend design concepts to stakeholders, using data, player insights, and industry best practices to influence product decisions.

  • Provide constructive peer feedback and help raise the overall quality of the design team’s work.

  • Share advanced knowledge of Unity tools, balance methodologies, and live game optimization techniques.

  • Collaborate with production to define appropriate scope, technical requirements, and delivery plans.

  • Work closely with art and engineering teams to optimize content development and maintain a sustainable release cadence.

  • Experiment with new approaches, learn from results, and continuously refine gameplay and content.

  • Where applicable, contribute expertise around live operations, events, sales, battle passes, and player engagement between major releases.

  • Collaborate with external art or development partners when required to brief, review, and refine outsourced work.

Requirements:
  • Demonstrable game or content design experience, ideally within live, hero-driven, character-focused mobile or free-to-play games.

  • Strong understanding of game systems, game balance, player motivation, and free-to-play mechanics.

  • Hands‑on experience with Unity and relevant internal game content tools.

  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to use data, player feedback, and gameplay outcomes to refine designs.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills within cross-functional and globally distributed teams.

  • Ability to communicate complex design concepts clearly and influence stakeholders through evidence‑based reasoning.

  • Strong prioritization skills and an impact‑focused approach, with the ability to concentrate on high‑value activities.

  • Performance‑driven and growth‑oriented mindset, with a willingness to experiment, learn from failure, and iterate quickly.

  • Collaborative attitude, openness to feedback, and willingness to support the success of teammates.

  • Curiosity, humility, and a proactive approach to asking questions and learning from mistakes.

  • Structured approach to setting and communicating specific, measurable, actionable, relevant, and time‑bound objectives.

  • Deep passion for mobile games and strong interest in creating compelling player experiences.

  • Extensive knowledge of the Transformers universe is a plus.

  • Experience designing live‑operations calendars, including events, sales, or battle passes, is desirable.

  • Experience working with external art or development outsourcing partners is advantageous.

Benefits:
  • Fully remote work environment with the ability to work from anywhere in the world.

  • Flexible working hours with no imposed schedule.

  • Unlimited paid time off.

  • Freedom to travel and work remotely from different locations.

  • Ability to receive compensation in your preferred currency.

  • Compensation based on qualifications, experience, and fit for the role.

  • Annual variable compensation through a bonus programme.

  • Allowance to purchase your own work device or equipment.

  • Strong autonomy and freedom to experiment, learn, and make a measurable impact.

  • Career development opportunities within a fast‑learning and performance‑oriented environment.

  • Opportunity to pitch ideas directly to management.

  • Diverse and supportive international community spanning six continents and 30+ countries.

  • Collaborative culture focused on experimentation, continuous learning, feedback, and shared success.
