Join our Legal, Governance & Regulatory Division at Euroclear and become a key member of the Euroclear FundsPlace legal team. You will provide essential legal support to MFEX, Euroclear Bank and other group companies, ensuring compliance and excellence in our operations and services.

Role

You will offer expert legal advice on a wide range of matters, such as Euroclear FundsPlace’s order processing, custody, fund distribution and data services for mutual and alternative funds as well as ETFs. You will collaborate closely with internal clients and fellow lawyers, contributing to a dynamic and diverse team in an international environment. You actively partner with our Product and Commercial teams in the delivery of our Euroclear FundsPlace strategy.

As funds lawyer, you will manage and support key corporate initiatives in close collaboration with internal clients and other lawyers. You will provide legal advice and support on a wide range of matters, including regulatory issues and will support the further development of the funds service offering of the Euroclear group.

Your responsibilities

• Support the creation and enhancement of services in the context of the Euroclear Group’s funds strategy, from conceptualization to continuous evolution.
• Provide comprehensive advice on applicable laws and regulations (. MiFIDII, UCITS, AIFMD, CSDR, ELTIF) and foreign law, covering topics such as asset protection, securities laws, investment funds, and capital market regulations. Follow up on the evolution of funds and distribution regulations in all jurisdictions where Euroclear FundsPlace is active.
• Draft and negotiate contracts with counterparts and clients, such as distribution and placement agreements; order processing and custody agreements.
• Punctually offer general legal support on a variety of matters relevant, such as, client onboarding, claims handling, escalations, incidents, and foreign law
• Collaborate with other lawyers within the Legal, Governance & Regulatory Division on relevant matters for the Euroclear Group.
• Develop and deliver training and guidance on legal matters to Euroclear staff.

Technical Skills

• European master’s degree in law. Experience with relevant US law is a plus.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in the funds industry, financial services or capital markets, gained in a financial institution’s in-house legal division or a law firm.
• Strong knowledge of the financial industry and market practices.
• Fluency in English.
