You have probably watched a football game at some point in your life. Well, if it was a World Cup match, it was likely filmed and produced by the HBS (Host Broadcast Services) team. We are involved in the production of the following events : FIFA World Cup 26, FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027, Men’s Rugby World Cup 2027 Australia.

Purpose

The Finance Operations team at HBS manages the financial relationship with prestigious clients like FIFA, handling budgeting, invoicing, and financial reporting for major sporting events. As our business grows with new demanding contracts, we need a Senior Controller who can strengthen our financial oversight and help us deliver excellence through detailed budget analysis and reporting.

You’ll work directly with various departments to challenge costs, understand operational needs, and ensure financial accountability across multiple international projects simultaneously. This role offers you the unique opportunity to apply your financial expertise in the exciting world of global sports broadcasting!

Main Activities / Responsibilities

Budget Management & Reporting

• Prepare and validate event budgets in collaboration with all operational divisions
• Challenge costs and provide financial insights to optimize resource allocation
• Develop and maintain comprehensive financial reports for management decision-making
• Create financial infographics and metrics to communicate complex data effectively

Financial Analysis & Business Development

• Conduct thorough financial analysis of market trends and investment opportunities
• Analyse and monitor operational and commercial performance across HBS projects
• Assist in creating compelling financial proposals that highlight ROI for potential clients and support the Business Development team in all financial aspects
• Develop business intelligence reports to identify opportunities and trends

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Interface with support divisions (Accounting, Controlling, HR) in the financial delivery of events
• Build productive relationships with operational teams to understand their financial needs
• Ensure proper intercompany billing across international subsidiaries
• Contribute to consolidating financial information from various countries

Position Relevant Skills (Background & Experience)

You have :

• A degree in Business Economics / Administration or related fields
• 7+ years of experience in controlling or financial analysis (broadcast / event industry experience is a plus)
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with attention to detail
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities
• Comprehensive knowledge of MS Office (particularly advanced Excel)
• Experience with financial systems (D365 knowledge is advantageous)
• A collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with diverse teams
