Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan is seeking a Senior Environmental professional to provide technical leadership for environmental projects at the Globe-Mmi/Arizona site. The role involves risk assessment, regulatory documentation, and guidance on compliance with CERCLA, NEPA, and related laws.

The position requires a Bachelor's in Environmental Science or related field (Master's preferred), plus several years of experience in environmental management and project leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience with data, quality assurance, and quality control.
• Experience working in an industrial facility and handling regulatory settings.
• Knowledge of air quality regulation and programs.
• Ability to understand and apply English instructions and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical expertise and leadership for environmental projects at the site.
• Assesses environmental risk and develops regulatory documentation.
• Performs hazardous waste site inspections and recommends actions.
• Reviews plans affecting discharges, emissions, and hazardous materials.
• Acts as project manager or technical expert on large environmental projects.
• Manages vendor contracts for services and equipment.
• Guides site management on applicable programs and regulations.
• Contributes to site planning and budgeting for environmental systems.
• Keeps up-to-date with Federal, State and local environmental laws.
• Provides leadership to junior engineers and technicians.
• Possible representation on company steering teams.
