Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Company LP seeks an Advanced Environmental Specialist to support the LDAR program and broader environmental compliance across NG/NGL operations. The role may be located at any MPLX location with duties spanning policy interpretation, design reviews, and regulatory liaison.

The position requires strong knowledge of environmental rules, engineering awareness, and Power BI proficiency, with multiple U.S. locations including Canonsburg, PA and others.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 15 years in environmental work in a process industry, or Bachelor’s degree with 7 years of experience.
• Detailed knowledge of current and proposed environmental rules with ability to communicate impact to leadership.
• Ability to review engineering designs to ensure environmental compliance.
• Comprehensive knowledge of facilities and environmental regulations to prevent recurring issues.
• Experience with Power BI or willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Interprets and implements environmental policies and budgets with guidance to managers.
• Designs/reviews environmental equipment specs and cost estimates as needed.
• Investigates environmental problems and communicates findings to senior management.
• Keeps up to date with environmental laws and regulations and assesses regulatory impact.
• Develops manuals, training materials, and programs for employees.
• Represents the company with industry groups and regulatory agencies.
• Maintains professional expertise to meet company expectations.
