Job summary

Upway in Paris seeks a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Ops & Demand engineering team that builds the tools for reconditioning, logistics, inventory and customer service, plus the Shopify store customers buy from. The team consists of 6 engineers and two Product Managers and will grow with the business.

You will report to the VP Engineering and collaborate with the CPO, PMs and operations leaders across regions to drive architecture and delivery at scale.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering, including leadership experience.
• Track record delivering business results through a team in a marketplace, e-commerce, logistics or operations-heavy environment.
• Ability to work with non-technical stakeholders and translate requests into engineering options.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize building great products across teams with PMs.
• Ensure velocity, quality, and risk are managed for shipped features and store tooling.
• Collaborate with Platform and Staff Engineers on architecture and standards.
• Lead hiring, onboarding and career development for engineers.
• Contribute to engineering leadership through org design, strategy and budgeting.
• Review designs and unblock engineers while maintaining technical depth.
