Who We Are

Thales Integrated Airspace-protection Systems (IAS) UK designs and manufactures advanced technologies, from air surveillance and mission planning systems to missiles. Belfast hosts our global Space Electric Propulsion Integration Centre and specialises in lightweight missiles and weapon system integration.

The Role

As a Senior Electronics Engineer, you will design state-of-the-art electronic systems delivering top performance. You will work with a multidisciplinary team of 35 Electronics Engineers across the product lifecycle, from requirements capture to design, testing, and verification. Your role involves optimizing designs through trade-offs, analyses, modelling, and simulation to produce competitive products.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Designing circuit assemblies and systems
  • Developing electronic architectures to meet requirements
  • Component and subsystem evaluation
  • Creating schematics and collaborating with PCB layout Engineers
  • Testing, validation, and debugging of circuits
  • Development and integration testing
  • Contributing to specifications, development, and verification plans
  • Ensuring compliance with standards
  • Supporting fault finding and investigations
What We Are Looking For
  • A relevant Engineering, Scientific, or Numerate degree
  • Good understanding of electronic circuit design
  • Experience in Power, Digital, Analogue Electronics, Electronics Architecture, or High Frequency Electronics
  • Experience with design and simulation tools
  • Knowledge of DFT and DFM requirements
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Self-motivated and proactive
  • Excellent teamwork skills

Nice to have:

  • Experience in safety-critical equipment design
  • Membership with professional institutions like IET or IEEE

Transferrable skills may be considered where full criteria are not met.
