This Director, External Affairs role is listed on behalf of a partner company and is based in France. You will shape the organization’s profile, reputation, and engagement with influential stakeholders across the philanthropy sector.

You will lead external affairs, media relations, brand strategy, digital engagement, and executive communications, crafting evidence-based narratives around climate, health, nature, food systems, and balanced diets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Extensive experience in strategic external affairs, communications, PR, or similar senior role.
• Native or fluent English; additional languages are advantageous.
• Strong track record in media relations, brand development, and stakeholder engagement.
• Experience managing external communications agencies or partners.
• Experience leading international communications for a global organization.
• Understanding of sustainability, climate, and health issues related to food systems.
• Experience with philanthropic organizations or NGOs.

• Develop and implement an external affairs strategy with senior leadership.

• Build relationships with media and manage inquiries.
• Oversee brand guidelines, reputation, and crisis communications.
• Develop digital communications across website and social channels.
• Produce high-impact materials to support fundraising efforts.
