Description du poste

Assala Energy is a dynamic Oil and Gas Exploration and Production company committed to the sustainable development of its assets in Gabon. We value a collaborative approach, promote diversity, and prioritize safety and integrity in all our operations.

We are looking for a Senior Digital Engineering and Business IT Lead to join our IT team in Gabon, playing a key role in managing our portfolio of IT applications, driving projects to support various business functions, and leading initiatives that will improve the performance and value of the business functions.

You will work closely with key stakeholders to develop business process improvements, focused on integrating them into the company business systems. You will be the subject matter expert for the existing enterprise business systems and will work collaboratively with the other IT teams, vendors, and consultants to build, enhance, and maintain these systems to ensure they meet the needs of the company.

Key responsibilities

  • The role serves as the primary responsible of the current and future company business systems within the relevant portfolios : Production, Maintenance, Hydrocarbon Allocation, Civil Engineering, Process Engineering, HR, Real Estate, Finance, Legal, C&P, HSSE, Social Performance, Logistics, etc.
  • Work with the company business and IT leaders to develop an overall applications strategic plan.
  • Implement and manage application product roadmaps status reporting, metrics and benchmarks.
  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service level agreements (SLAs). Develop and manage the applications budget, including forecasting and cost control. Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends. Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements.
  • Develop productive relationships with business leaders and systems custodians across the company to influence how applications can enable new sources of value. Manage relationships with major vendors and service providers to ensure they cost-effectively meet the needs of the organization.
  • Conduct regular surveys of stakeholder satisfaction with application products, publish the results and, where necessary, implement action plans to improve satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate current and future systems with other enterprise systems and applications. Ensure seamless data flow and compatibility between systems.
  • Define and enhance methodologies and practices for the application life cycle management in line with best practice and practical experience of continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and security of the data stored within the enterprise business systems. Ensure that regular data backups and disaster recovery procedures are available and performed by the Infrastructure team.
  • Plan and execute IT projects related to application development and integration. Monitor project progress, budgets, and timelines. Mitigate risks and resolve project-related issues. Oversee the software development life cycle, from concept to delivery.
  • Maintain application documentation, including configuration settings, technical specifications, and user guides. Keep records of system changes, upgrades, and maintenance activities.
  • Work with Information Security team to ensure that the company’s application products are effectively secured and that risks are mitigated.
  • Comply and align with legislation, regulations, IT policies and strategy.
  • Responsible for application contracts and their cost implications.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree & IT Experienced Professional with 10+ years’ experience in IT as well as a broad understanding of Oil and Gas industry.
  • Project / Programme management qualifications / skills and proven experience in management of large IT implementation or development projects.
  • A broad understanding of IT matters and technologies (Windows, Linux, Oracle, SAP, SharePoint, Oil & Gas specific software, etc.).
  • Self-driven, 'can do' attitude, able to articulate in a crisp and precise manner, outgoing personality eager to promote use of IT technologies in the business. Strong communication skills with a proven ability to understand key concepts and communicate effectively with technical staff, business stakeholders and senior management.
  • Proven ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical people to enhance understanding and drive to decisions that lead to positive outcomes.
  • Strong analytical, data processing and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate, build relationships and influence individuals at all levels of the organization (as well as external vendors and service providers).
  • Fluency in French and English is required.
