Freshflow GmbH in France/Europe is seeking a senior Data Scientist to tackle the hardest forecasting problems in fresh retail, focusing on ordering and inventory optimization. You will join a small, senior Data Science team and contribute to production-ready models and decision support for store operations.

The role emphasizes distributional forecasting, inventory policy design, and cutting-edge tooling, with collaboration across success and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Experience making decisions under uncertainty with real operational impact.
• Depth in inventory simulation or ordering-policy design.
• MSc or PhD in a quantitative field; depth over discipline matters.
• Strong Python and SQL on large, real-world data; production-grade code.
• ML model evaluation and monitoring in production settings.
• Familiarity with GCP and dbt in a modern data stack; workflow tools.
• Knowledge of distributional forecasting methods and related models.

Responsabilités

• Develop and improve distributional forecasting models across architecture and calibration.
• Contribute to inventory simulation and ordering-policy framework.
• Shape technical direction and ensure code quality and production readiness.
• End-to-end pipeline quality, backtesting, and issue detection before store deployment.
• Ship production-grade code and leverage agentic AI tooling for efficiency.
• Collaborate with Customer Success and Engineering to translate insights into product improvements.
