Job summary

EPEX SPOT is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to design and evolve a cloud-native Data Platform on Google Cloud. You will lead engineers, drive architectural excellence, and deliver trusted data products for analytics and AI initiatives, including governance and security.

You will collaborate with product, architecture, data science, and security teams in an Agile setting, focusing on reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency across the data stack.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience building and operating cloud-native data platforms.
• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform data services.

Responsibilities

• Drive design, development, deployment, and continuous improvement of enterprise-scale data solutions.
• Design and implement scalable data pipelines and data products.
• Build robust batch and streaming data processing solutions.
• Ensure platform reliability, security, and cost efficiency.
• Coach and mentor Data Engineers; conduct reviews and promote best practices.
• Enable governance and self-service data products; collaborate across teams.
