Job summary

Spinlab is seeking a Data Analyst to transform game and player data into actionable business insights. You will work with data scientists and engineers to build predictive models, run A/B tests, and define metrics for new features.

Strong SQL, Python, and visualization skills are essential, and experience in gaming or tech is preferred. You will translate complex findings into practical recommendations, create dashboards, and communicate results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of experience as a Data Analyst or Data Scientist, preferably in the gaming or tech industry.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset; ability to find the story in the data: uncovering trends and explaining them in clear business terms.
• Experience working with large datasets and distributed computing tools (BigQuery, Spark, Hive, or similar).
• Strong hands-on experience with SQL for complex queries and data wrangling.
• Solid data visualization skills (Tableau/Power BI) and advanced Python, with practical experience using common data science libraries (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn).
• Strong experience of experimental design and statistical testing (A/B testing, hypothesis testing, confidence intervals).
• Working knowledge of machine learning fundamentals (supervised learning, feature engineering, training/validation, evaluation metrics) and familiarity with causal inference and uplift modeling.
• Hands-on experience contributing to ML workflows or model development, with the ability to implement and test well-scoped tasks alongside Data Scientists.
• Practical experience using AI coding assistants or other AI tools in day-to-day work, with a focus on automation, efficiency, and output quality.

Responsibilities

• Analyze large volumes of game and player data to identify patterns, trends, and dynamics, and turn them into clear business conclusions.
• Translate findings into practical recommendations for product improvements, highlighting what works, what doesn’t, and opportunities to explore.
• Perform deep-dive investigations into performance anomalies or game features to explain what happened and why.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and Product Managers to shape hypotheses and validate them with data.
• Develop robust statistical and causal inference analyses to identify drivers of user behavior.
• Contribute to development and validation of predictive models, including feature engineering and A/B testing, with Data Scientists.
• Communicate complex insights in a simple, compelling way to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Help define metrics for new products or features, expanding high-level requirements with analytical thinking.
• Build dashboards and reports to help stakeholders monitor KPIs and make data-driven decisions.
