Role

Responsibilities

  1. Conduct advanced research on climate transition risks, focusing on supply chain emissions (Scope 3), consumer choices, and emerging technologies.
  2. Develop and refine methodologies for assessing impacts on industries and financial markets, integrating systems thinking and scenario analysis.
  3. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create innovative tools and models for climate risk assessment.
  4. Engage with the financial sector and industry to align research outputs with customer needs and regulatory requirements.
  5. Publish high-impact research in scientific journals and contribute to conferences, workshops, and industry forums.
  6. Stay informed on emerging climate policies, technological advancements, and market trends, especially in regulations and quantitative methods, to incorporate into assessments and recommendations.

Requirements

  • A PhD in climate science, environmental engineering, economics, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Strong expertise in greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting, particularly Scope 3. Knowledge of life cycle assessment (LCA) and supply chain sustainability is a plus. Familiarity with climate risk frameworks (e.g., TCFD, NGFS scenarios) is also advantageous.
  • Proficiency in quantitative analysis and modelling tools (e.g., Python, R).
  • Knowledge of consumer behavior, market dynamics, and emerging decarbonization technologies.
  • Proven ability to conduct interdisciplinary research and develop practical applications of scientific findings.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
  • Strong communication skills, with experience presenting complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with the financial sector, including climate-related disclosures, regulatory frameworks, and market incentives, is a plus.
